Subzero Utilizes Raymond Solutions to Maximize Space and Storage Capacity

With distribution needs mounting after years of success, Subzero Logistics and Cold Storage Warehousing LLC hit a revenue point that meant it was time to expand. However, with limited options to build out, the company found they could more than double the pallet positions by expanding its warehouse racking height. With support from a Raymond authorized Solutions and Support Center and Raymond intralogistics solutions—including both lift trucks and state-of-the-art technology such as wire guidance, high-density storage solutions and lithium-ion batteries— Subzero was able to maximize operational efficiency and revenue potential by expanding upwards rather than outwards.

Maximizing Vertical Space –

Subzero Logistics and Cold Storage Warehousing LLC, a third-party logistics cold-storage company that stores and ships frozen and refrigerated products, adopted Radioshuttle®, a semi-automated dense storage system, in tandem with Raymond Swing-Reach® trucks, the very narrow aisle concept and the wire guidance system set up around the Radioshuttle system. Collaborating closely with Subzero, Raymond’s intralogistics solutions were able to increase efficiency in managing inventory and enable a greater stack height capability. Additionally, by phasing onboarding of customers during the transition to Raymond’s intelliguide™ Guidance System, operators were able to gain confidence using the new Swing-Reach trucks.
Seamless Operation With Lithium-Ion –

Raymond conducted a power study that showed the inadequacy of lead-acid batteries for high-volume work traditionally used by Subzero, which required downtime that disrupted operations during high-demand periods. The power study revealed that a move to lithium-ion would alleviate this challenge, providing much longer run-times and better compatibility with opportunity charging.
